Who provides BasenCloud
BasenCloud is provided by Shenzhen Basen Technology Co., Ltd. ("BasenGreen", "we", "us"), Shenzhen, China. LYNX Technology develops and maintains BasenCloud on BasenGreen's behalf. You can reach us at support@basengreen.com.
Who can use BasenCloud
You must be 16 or older to create a BasenCloud account. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you. BasenCloud is made for owners of BasenGreen batteries and for people the owner allows to follow the battery.
Your account and signing in
- You sign in with your Google account (iPhone, iPad and Android), with Sign in with Apple (iPhone and iPad), or with your e-mail address and a BasenCloud password (iPhone, iPad and Android). BasenCloud never sees your Google or Apple password.
- To create an account with your e-mail address, you confirm the address with a 6-digit code that we send to it, and you give your first name and family name. If you forget your password, you can set a new one in the app with a code sent to the same address.
- Your BasenCloud account belongs to the sign-in method you created it with. Signing in with another method, even with the same e-mail address, does not open the same account, and an e-mail address that signs in with Google or Apple cannot be used for an account with a password; use the method you used before.
- Keep your phone, your Google or Apple account, your e-mail account and your BasenCloud password secure, and choose a password that you do not use anywhere else. You are responsible for what happens in your BasenCloud account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at support@basengreen.com.
- BasenGreen staff accounts cannot be used in the app.
- Guest mode lets you try the app with sample data and no account. Nothing you do in guest mode is sent to us.
Linking batteries
- Link only batteries that you own or whose owner has allowed you to link them.
- Linking needs physical access to the battery's display, and the display must be online. On the display, open Settings › Network › Link to Mobile and scan the code with the app, or type the code shown under it. A code works once and expires after 5 minutes.
- A battery can be linked to one account at a time. One account can hold up to 20 batteries.
- A battery can be unlinked by you in the app, by anyone at the display (the display's Settings PIN protects this when Lock Settings is on), or by BasenGreen, for example when a battery changes hands, is retired or its display is set up again, or to protect an owner. If a battery is unlinked from your account through its display or by BasenGreen, you get a notification.
- Physical access to the display means control of the link: anyone who can use the display can unlink the battery and link it to another account. Keep the display protected, for example with Lock Settings.
- Before you sell or give away a battery, unlink it.
- After a battery is linked, its new owner sees alarms, events and notifications only from the time they linked it. Live values are always current.
What BasenCloud does and does not do
BasenCloud shows the live status of your linked batteries (state of charge, voltage, current, power, packs, cell voltages and temperatures), their alarms and events, their history, their BMS log when you read it, their read-only protection parameters and installed firmware versions. It can notify you about protection events, warnings, a battery that goes offline and firmware updates.
- BasenCloud is for monitoring only. The app cannot switch, charge, discharge, configure or otherwise control your battery, and it cannot change its protection settings. Reading the BMS log changes nothing on the battery.
- The battery's safety protections are built into its battery management system (BMS). They work whether or not the app, the display's internet connection or BasenCloud is working.
- Readings come from the battery and its display. They can be delayed, missing or inaccurate, for example when the display is offline.
- Notifications are for information only. They can be delayed or not arrive at all, for example because of your phone's settings, your network, the display's internet connection, or the Apple, Google or Expo services that deliver them.
Firmware updates
BasenGreen installs firmware updates on the battery's display, and where supported on its battery management system, remotely, for example to fix problems, improve safety or add features. The app shows the installed versions; you cannot install updates from the app. If you have questions about an update, contact support@basengreen.com.
Using BasenCloud fairly
When you use BasenCloud, you must not:
- link a battery you do not own and are not allowed to link, or try to reach another person's account or battery;
- guess or collect link codes, or use a code that was not meant for you;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the service, or probe, scan or test its security without our written permission;
- copy, change or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- access the service by automated means other than the app;
- use the service to break the law or to harm others, or put unlawful or offensive text in battery names;
- pretend to be someone else or to act for BasenGreen.
If you find a security problem, please report it to support@basengreen.com and give us a reasonable time to fix it before telling others.
Availability, changes and price
- We work to keep BasenCloud available, but it can be interrupted, for example for maintenance or by failures of networks or of the services we rely on.
- We may change, add or remove features. If we plan to stop the service, or to remove an important feature, we will give you reasonable notice in advance where we can.
- BasenCloud is free and has no purchases. If we ever want to charge for it, we will tell you in advance, and you will not pay anything without agreeing to it.
Intellectual property
The BasenCloud app, the website, the BasenCloud and BasenGreen names and logos, and their content belong to BasenGreen or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, which we can withdraw as these terms allow, to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own batteries and those you are allowed to follow. The app contains open-source components, which are licensed under their own terms.
Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you got it from: Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement for the App Store, or the Google Play Terms of Service. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or its support.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms removes or limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live, including any legal guarantee that cannot be excluded. Where such a law gives you more protection than these terms, that law applies. The warranty for your battery is separate from these terms and is not affected by them.
Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, BasenCloud is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that its readings and notifications will be complete, accurate or on time. BasenCloud is not a safety system and does not replace the battery's own protections, its manual or professional installation and service.
Our responsibility for loss or damage
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, and to your mandatory consumer rights, we are not responsible for:
- loss or damage that was not foreseeable when you accepted these terms;
- loss or damage caused by relying on the app for safety, or by not following these terms or the battery's instructions;
- loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as failures of the internet, of power supplies, or of the Apple, Google or Expo services the app depends on;
- business losses, such as lost profit, revenue or business opportunities, where you use BasenCloud for a business.
Ending your use and deleting your account
- You can stop using BasenCloud at any time and delete your account in the app (Profile › Delete account) or by e-mail, as described at https://basencloud.com/account/delete. Deleting your account unlinks your batteries.
- BasenGreen may disable or delete an account, or unlink batteries from it, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the account is used without its owner's permission, to protect other people or the batteries, or if the law requires it. A disabled account cannot sign in, and every phone signed in to it is signed out. We will tell you why, unless the law or security reasons prevent it.
- Sections that by their nature should continue, such as intellectual property, consumer rights, disclaimers, responsibility for loss and law and disputes, continue after your use ends.
Law and disputes
BasenCloud is offered to users in many countries, so these terms do not choose one country's law for everyone. These terms are read and applied under the law that applies to you, which is usually the law of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms removes the mandatory consumer protection rights of your country of residence.
If you have a problem with BasenCloud, please contact us first at support@basengreen.com, so that we can look for an amicable solution together. If we cannot solve it, you or BasenGreen may take the dispute to any court that has jurisdiction.
These terms do not require arbitration, and they do not limit your right to take part in a collective or class action where the law allows it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change significantly affects you, we will tell you in advance, for example in the app or by e-mail. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using BasenCloud and delete your account before it takes effect. If you keep using BasenCloud after that, the new terms apply, to the extent the law allows.
General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and the terms of the store you got the app from are the whole agreement between you and BasenGreen about BasenCloud.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else. BasenGreen may transfer them to a company that takes over the service, provided your rights under these terms are not reduced.
- These terms are written in English.
