Delete your account in the app

  • Open BasenCloud and sign in.
  • Tap the Profile tab, then Delete account.
  • Read what will be deleted, then confirm by signing in again with the Google or Apple account you use for BasenCloud or, if you created your account with your e-mail address, by entering your BasenCloud password.
  • Tap Delete account in the last step. Your account is deleted at once and you are signed out.
Sign in with Apple is available only on iPhone and iPad. If you created your account with Apple and do not have an iPhone or iPad at hand, use the e-mail route below.
If you have forgotten the password of an account you created with your e-mail address, set a new one in the app with a code sent to that address first, or use the e-mail route below.

What is deleted at once

  • Your name, e-mail address and sign-in details (the connection to your Google or Apple account, or the one-way hash of your password).
  • Every battery linked to your account is unlinked, and its display stops showing your name and e-mail address. The batteries can be linked again from their displays.
  • The names and location labels you gave your batteries.
  • Your notification settings, the phones registered for notifications and the record of notifications sent to you.
  • Your alarm acknowledgements.
  • Your app sessions, including the IP addresses and phone software details stored with them. Every phone signed in to your account is signed out.
  • If you use Sign in with Apple, we ask Apple to revoke BasenCloud's access to your Apple Account. If Apple cannot be reached, nothing is deleted and the app asks you to try again.
  • If you use Google, the app removes BasenCloud's access to your Google account.

What BasenGreen keeps, and why

  • Battery data (readings, alarms, events and firmware history) belongs to the battery, not to your account. BasenGreen keeps it to support the battery, also for its next owner. It no longer shows who you are.
  • Link history: which account linked or unlinked each battery and when. BasenGreen keeps it as its record of who had access to each battery. After the deletion it points to an account ID that is no longer connected to your name, e-mail address or any other personal detail.
  • BMS log read requests: which battery's log you asked to read, and when, kept with the battery's record of operations. After the deletion they point to an account ID that is no longer connected to your name, e-mail address or any other personal detail.
  • Security audit records about your account stay in BasenGreen's audit log, which cannot be changed. They contain IDs, times and action names, never your name, your e-mail address, or your phone's IP address or software details.
  • Backups: copies of the database made before your deletion are kept for up to 8 weeks (daily copies for 14 days, weekly copies for 8 weeks) and are then erased. They are used only to recover from a failure.
  • E-mails you exchanged with our support are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

If you later sign in again with the same Google or Apple account, or create an account again with the same e-mail address, you get a new, empty BasenCloud account.

Delete your account by e-mail

If you cannot use the app, for example because you lost your phone, you can ask us to delete your account:

  • Send an e-mail to support@basengreen.com with the subject "Delete my BasenCloud account".
  • Send it from the e-mail address of your BasenCloud account. If you used Hide My Email with Apple, write the relay address in your message; you can find it in your Apple Account settings under Sign in with Apple.
  • If you can, add the serial number or Device ID of a battery linked to your account (the display shows the Device ID under Settings › Network). It helps us find your account.

To protect your account, we confirm the request by replying to the e-mail address of the account before we delete anything, and we may ask for more information if we cannot confirm that the request comes from the account holder. We delete the account within 30 days of confirming your request and tell you when it is done. The same data is deleted and kept as described above.

If you used Sign in with Apple, please also stop using Sign in with Apple for BasenCloud in your Apple Account settings, because we can only ask Apple to do this when you delete your account in the app.

Delete some data without deleting your account

  • Unlink a battery (Profile › My batteries › choose the battery › Unlink battery): its name and location label are deleted and you stop receiving its data.
  • Sign out on a phone (Profile › Log out): that phone is removed from your notifications.
  • Turn off notification types in the app's settings, or turn off notifications for BasenCloud in your phone's settings.
  • To have any other data corrected or deleted, write to support@basengreen.com and tell us what you would like changed.
